Sizing your belt

Understanding how to size a ratchet belt ensures that your new sliding belt fits perfectly and provides the exceptional comfort you can only get from Arnsworth. In this guide, we’re going to explain how to size a belt for a man. Let’s get started.

Our Simple & Straightforward Approach to Sizing

Arnsworth straps come in one 55-inch length that accommodates waist sizes up to 50 inches. They feature 30+ adjustment points so you can micro-cinch it to just the right fit, not too loose or too tight. If you don’t require the full 55-inch length, you can simply cut the strap to your exact size using an ordinary pair of household scissors.

Here’s how to size a ratchet belt:

  1. Open the latch on the reverse side of the buckle.
  2. Insert the unfinished end of the strap into the buckle and close the latch.
  3. Put the belt through your belt loops around your waist.
  4. Measure how much of the strap needs to be cut to provide you with a proper fit.
  5. Open the latch and remove the strap.
  6. Using a pair of regular scissors and cutting from the unfinished end of the strap, remove the excess portion of the strap. We recommend you cut a little less than the measured portion to avoid cutting too much. You can always make a second cut if necessary.
  7. Insert the strap back into the buckle and try the belt again for sizing.
